BIRD GUIDING UPDATE

After just the first 3 days in the field, the total tally of flushes is 96! with day 2 (Tuesday) being the banner day. That day my pointer team broke the Leens Lodge flush record for one cover, 41 Woodcock  flushes ! On two occasions, 3 birds went up from the same point...The old record was 39.

Home for just today then back up to the lodge...

Woodcock and Grouse Hunting Downeast Maine

Starting the season off right with a total of 21 birds, 17 Woodcock and 4 Grouse. Weather was rainy, birds were wet and running on the ground like Grouse. When they did fly they never got above the tree tops. Gunner and Tina's first hunt of the year and they dominated the cover, seasoned veterans.  

Sunrise in Washington County, Maine... headed to pick up my sports, goona be a good day birds should fly today, stay tuned for day 2's report.
