If you like to fish for Landlocked Salmon, Lake Trout and Smallmouth Bass, we can split the day up. We troll either very early morning for a couple hours for Salmon and Lake Trout and then switch over to Bass while the sun is higher in the sky, or we can start out Bass fishing in the early afternoon and then troll till dark for Salmon and Lake Trout.
Eagle Mountain provides all the gear you need to fish. Of course if you are an avid fisherman and have your own gear, be sure to bring it along. When fishing the big lakes we use a 24' Bentley or an 18' Starcraft pontoon boat. They are both equipped to handle groups, comfortable and provides lots of room for the whole family to fish, swim from or just lay in the sun. When fishing remote ponds and streams we by canoe or hike on foot down the remote streams.

Remote Fishing Trips for Brook Trout, Smallmouth Bass

Ever since we bought the Wilderness Lodge, I have been working on developing the early Spring fishing around the Lodge. The remote fishing opportunities and resources within a 15 miles radius of the lodge is some of the best fishing anywhere in the state! We are truly blessed to be set up where we are. We have remote Trout Ponds, a nice remote Smallmouth pond, 2 of the best Brook trout streams in all of Eastern Maine just minutes away. I could guide a couple fishermen an entire week and not hit the same place twice... Matt Whitegiver, Master Maine Guide
Maine's trout rivers and streams - more miles of native brook trout water than you'll find in any other state in the country. For the visiting fisherman, that means one thing: hundreds upon hundreds of miles of brooks and streams to explore with a fishing rod. These are fish that have been swimming and reproducing in the wild, without the aid of a stocking truck, in a setting that's still as wild as any left in the lower 48. Our remote fishing trips take you into the big woods of Downeast Maine surrounding the “Wilderness Lodge”. We fish for native Brook Trout in the heart of Moose and Black Bear country. We also offer fly fishing for Brook Trout and remote Smallmouth Bass fishing. There are endless miles of brooks and streams that hold very nice Brookies and Smallmouth Bass. White Perch and Pickerel fishing ponds are also available for Pan fishermen or youngsters in the group.

Matt and Lisa,
I just wanted to thank you for showing us a great time on the lake and being so helpful with the kids!! To say we had a great time would be an understatement and I must say it was one of the best parts to our vacation. If we come back to Maine for another vacation we will give you a call to fish again. Also if I know of any of my customers looking for a bear hunt in Maine I will pass on your info to them. Have a safe hunting season and a hope you guys hammer some big bruins!!

Small Mouth Bass Fishing ... We have only twenty days to go before our second Smallmouth trip with Eagle Mountain Outfitters. Last June we fished with Matt Whitegiver for the first time. Not knowing what to expect we had an incredible fishing trip. We met Matt the year before when he guided us on an Upland Bird Hunt. He told us he ran fishing trips in the summer. We had such good luck hunting with him, we decided to give the Maine Smallmouth a try. My only regret was that we did not keep a total of how many fish we actually boated and released. Needless to say we were all worn out by the end of the day. Matt has a great setup that is very family friendly. Four of us fished all day and caught all the fish we could handle. I even made the picture board with one of the larger fish. Matt is an incredible guide as well as an outstanding gentleman. We thoroughly enjoy his company! We can not wait to go. I would recommend Matt as a guide to anyone wanting to catch a lot of fish.
Kevin won't shut up about catching "the biggest fish." Thanks for showing us a great time.

Matt, Once again it is getting close to that time of year. We look forward to coming to Maineand fishing with you once again. I believe this makes our fourth (4) year. We have neverbeen skunked. Once again the competition will be great. The younger generations lookforward to trying to beat the old guy. But with your expertise in finding bass it is always greatcompetition. We will try hard this year to catch a small mouth in excess of 5 pounds. We havegotten close a couple of times but no winner yet. One thing for sure we always catch a ton offish. I think we would like to try lake trout trolling. Never have caught one that way. One thingfor sure is the Southern Boys know how to bass fish. Looking forward to our outing...Hayden
