2015 Spring fishing

2015 Spring fishing

28 May 2015

Spring fishing has been off and running for a few weeks now. We are beginning to see the first of the Bar Harbor / Acadia crowd. Every year we guide more & more tourists that are visiting Acadia National Park. This year will be no exception.

The Salmon fishing had a late start in the lake we fish, but the past two days has made a big difference. I think the lower than normal water levels are contributing to the problem but a change in my tactics seems to have worked. We have landed some nice fat Landlocked Salmon our last few trips out.

We also had a great  remote river trip to fish for Smallmouth Bass. This is an exciting trip fun for the spinning rod fisherman as well as fly fishermen.

As we go into June, the Bar Harbor visitors will start to dominate our schedule, but I am always hopeful for the occasional fishing client who wants to go remote and fish for Brook Trout or Trophy Smallies up by our lodge.

On the lake we fish, the trophy Smallmouth are just about to park themselves on the spawning beds. I hope for glass calm mornings and evenings so we can spot fish these up to 6 lb fish.

If you're interested in a trip, be sure to book ahead

Good fishing everyone
